No, there's a big difference between mbps and MB/s.

A megabit is one eigth of a megabyte.

The speed of 10 mbps megabits is actually 1.25 MB/s or megabytes per second.

If what you are saying is true... then the plan that we have, which is the 5 meg plan (5 mbps), I should get a download speed of 5 megabytes per second, but in reality I get a download speed of 5 megaBITS not bytes, which amounts to about 625 Kilobytes not bits.
